| Renewal of ration cards in Tamilnadu Dec 21, 10 |

The period of validity of ration cards is due to expire shortly. The Tamil Nadu government has issued orders to attach additional pages which would come free of cost and be valid for a year.
The pages have been printed and given to the districts. They would be attached in fair price shops from December 20.
To avoid crowding, a system to stagger the card-holders would be followed. As per the arrangement, the dates for the cards would be displayed in the PDS shops.
