| Karunanidhi inaugurates IT parks Feb 23, 11 |

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi inaugurated three information technology (IT) special economic zones (IT SEZs) through videoconferencing - two in Madurai and one in Tirunelveli.
He said it would draw an investment of Rs 3,400 crore and create jobs for 90,000 people in the next five years.
Karunanidhi said the IT SEZ at Gangaikondan in Tirunelveli district, with an expenditure of Rs 50 crore, is expected to pull an investment of Rs 2,000 crore and create employment for 40,000 people.
